Team Zero Steal A Map From Team Falcons
The lowest-rated team at The International 2024, Team Zero, is looking to prove that they belong in the highest level of Dota 2.
The inexperienced Chinese squad had a tall task to play against Team Falcons for their first match in the Group Stage. Though most expected a blowout to occur, Team Zero instead put up an amazing fight.
The first map of the series was beautiful to watch if you’re a fan of Chinese Dota. Team Zero played exceptionally well as a unit, protecting Erika on his Carry Shadow Fiend to scale well into the late game and pull off the upset. However, credit must be given to 7e for his Earth Spirit that finished the map with 88% kill participation.
The series didn’t get boring in the following map. For starters, Team Zero ran a Position 5 Bristleback on zzq. It was a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, with a lot of brawling going on. The two competitors continued exchanging net worth leads, but Team Falcons eventually showed why they were the best team in 2024 and took the map in 36 minutes.
Overall, it was nice to see that the underdogs could go head-to-head with Team Falcons, and that the seires wasn't a one-sided one.
The Group Stage for The International 2024 rages on, and there is much more Dota to be played. However, no teams will be eliminated after the Group Stage ends, as it is primarily for seeding purposes.
