Back In 2023 Form - Gaimin Gladiators Secure Riyadh Masters Grand Finals
After a slow 2024 season, the Gaimin Gladiators are shaping up to match last year’s performance. The Western European squad defeated their rivals Team Liquid in the Upper Bracket Final to secure Top 2 in the tournament.
Though we had the “El’ Classico” of 2023, the series wasn’t close at all this time. The Gladiators obliterated Team Liquid in a very fast 2-0 victory.
In both games, the Gladiators destroyed the laning stage and continued playing in Gaimin Gladiators fashion. They bought aura items such as Pipe of Insight, Crimson Guard, and Drums of Endurance to end both maps in 33 minutes. Team Liquid did not stand a chance and only managed to post 19 kills throughout the series.
At the end of the match, tOfu shed some light on how the Gladiators struggled throughout the year and how they returned to form:
"It was very difficult for us, we lost every game and could not do anything about it. Afterwards, we did a lot of work and improved our individual game and team play. Our coach Cy- helped us a lot. Now that we are back at the top, we understand that everyone has bad times and bad games. At such moments, the main thing is to never give up."
The Gladiators will wait for their opponent in the Grand Final. Only three other teams remain in the Riyadh Masters 2024 tournament: Team Liquid, Team Falcons, and Tundra Esports.
